First Vice District Governor Chip Kline is a Proud
Lion - so proud he is a member of both Tombstone Lions and the Tucson Wilmot Lioness Club. He also was a member and officer of the Tombstone Silver
Lions.
A member since 1996 when his wife Annie brought him into the club, VDG Chip is now in his fifth term as a club president. He also served two terms as zone chairman and as Region Chairman, sat on the board for C.Kirby Smithe Youth Camp for six years and was Treasurer of the Camp for 3 years.
Many district Lions know VDG Chip as the District Tail Twister, District Sgt at Arms or District Chaplin, a post he held 6 times. He is a graduate of the Lions Faculty Development Institute.
Over the years, VDG Chip has been recognized with many District Governor certificates of appreciation and awards. From International, he has also earned an Extension Award, International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, a 5 Member Key Award, Proud Lion and Proud Sponsor awards. He was named a Melvin Jones Fellow by the Tombstone Silver Lions and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow from the Tombstone Lions club.
Outside of Lions, VDG Chip stays busy as Secretary for the Tombstone Senior Citizen Group, President of the Emmett Kelly Jr. Memorial Scholarship Foundation, and as a Lifetime member and Past Chief of the Tombstone Vigilantes. He was Chaplin for the American Legion for 6 years.
VDG Chip is currently employed part-time by Cochise County and says he is semi-retired.
